The Final Showdown 2019
All Stars Media posted Thursday March 28, 2019.
The Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers All Star Series started back in November and teams have travelled across 3 states, clocked up thousands of k’s and will have competed against each other 12 times all to have it come down to the wire this Saturday night at Timmis Speedway, Mildura to decide who will be the 2018-19 Series Champ.
The top 5 in points going into the final round are:
1. SA33 Mark Caruso – 5461
2. SA96 Brendan Guerin – 5378
3. V 29 Michael Tancredi - 5288
4. V 4 Phil Lock - 5238
5. V 16 James Wren - 5175
“It really is out of the top 2 guys but the minors are certainly up for grabs and can change depending on what happens on the night. You only have to drop a heat and placings will shift around. We always seem to have fireworks on our final night and I wouldn’t expect anything else this season. Caruso would love to win his second championship after such a disappointment last season when he actually tied with Paul Solomon and we had to use a countback on A Main wins to decide the winner. He has been fast and consistent all season. Guerin would also love to take out his first Championship; and originally not planning on doing it all at the start of the season to now running 2nd is a tribute to the team. Both drivers have had fantastic seasons but unfortunately only one can win. I am pretty excited about it.” Promoter Searle says.
Michael Tancredi has had an impressive season so far and has been on the podium a few times, he is very capable of getting there again and in doing so improve on his current 3rd place. Finding form again is hard charger Dan Evans. Evans has had a challenging season with strong results at the start of the season only to have engine failure mid- way through. Borrowing & leasing engines to keep him on the road until his was repaired. He is finding form again and wants to finish on a high like he started. Farmer Phil Lock is another that kicked the season off strongly and a podium will finish the season off for him the way he wants. In only his 3rd season in Sprintcars V16 James Wren has already seen heat wins and loves the tight little track at Mildura. Hard charger SA69 Cody Atkins is back as well as young Brayden ‘Hollywood’ Parr. Parr Motorsport’s V77 have done an engine change from 410 to 360 for the weekend. Tony Moule’s returns to Mildura in the SA37 mount. Moule would love to lock in a feature win. Moule’s record for of winning the most A Main’s in the series still stands so adding another one would just strengthen this. With a strong field of All Star hot shots nominated it’s guaranteed to be a night of on track action and fireworks
“We have gone back to our Presentation Pit Party this season instead of the formal function the night after. I listened to what the teams wanted to do this year and decided the Pit Party was the best way to go. Our major sponsors can be there also which was a consideration for me as well. It’s always good fun just not as formal.” Searle says
Timmis Speedway, March 30 with on track action at 5.30pm.
